Innovation with Detailed Management of the Urban General Plan of San Roque in the Finca de los Puertos. Gibraltar Countryside

The lands of this Innovation have a PRIVILEGED POSITION within the framework of the Bay of Algeciras, being located at a point of confluence of the main vertebral axes of the sub-regional road system, such as the A-7 and the A-383 which, will suffer a deep metamorphosis in their hierarchy and capacity of channelling of flows based on certain initiatives planned in the Territorial and Urban planning of Gibraltar Countryside, among which the construction of a variant of the A-7 stands out which will assume most of the external traffic of the Urban Agglomeration. The commissioning of these lands is AN OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE INTERESTS, making it possible to contextualize the following territorial planning objectives:

  • SATISFY A HISTORICAL DEMAND by locating a new cemetery away from the nuclei that form the settlement system of the municipality of San Roque, and therefore, serves to meet the needs of all citizens of the municipality.

  • PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN ECONOMIC ACTIVITY whose scale and qualification will contribute to making the municipality more competitive in the framework of the Bay of Algeciras, taking advantage of the true potentialities presented, contributing over time, to rebalance the excessive concentration of this type of functions existing in the surroundings of the N-340 in the municipalities of Algeciras, Los Barrios and La Línea.

  • ENABLE THE CREATION OF ACCESSIBILITY STRATEGIES TO THE LITORAL headed by principles of sustainable mobility in development of the guidelines established in the sub-regional planning.
